| In January the South has mild days with cool
nights. Most of the precipitation falls in areas near the Gulf of Mexico.
The Gulf is a really good moisture source for storm systems.
In areas away from the Gulf, it is mainly cool and dry. Snow occurs
the further north you go in the region.

| July in the Southern region is hot and humid. Some call
it sticky because of the humidity. Most of the rain falls in thunderstorms
and heavy downpours. There is a lot of sunshine and nice weather, especially
as you travel away from the Gulf.
