Your
Journey has Ended! Better safe than sorry. You stopped at Center Point. You have chosen to end your journey after traveling about
80 miles! As they say, better safe than sorry.
Your assignment now is to write an essay describing the reasons
for why you decided to stop driving when you did. (Your teacher may
modify this assignment. Follow your instructor's directions.)
Essay You can include any number of reasons to defend your decision.
The weather, comments and the forecast discussions from Dim Bulb, notes
and information from the WeatherPad computer, and some of the meteorological
hints about winter storms that you learned at the beginning of the lesson.
Below you will find a few guidelines to assist you in your assignment.
Have fun!
Here are some suggestions for writing up your paper:
Explain why you decided to stop your trip at this point.
Describe the weather.
Identify the information sources you used to make your decision.
Explain how this information helped you make your decision, including the
weather forecast, comments by Dim Bulb, and information from your WeatherPad
computer.
Do you think you might have made it to your destination?
Consider the age and physical condition of Grandma Brown. Was it
better for her to leave the journey now? Would you have continued
on if the driver were someone else?
Given the conditions outside when you ended your journey, what are the
chances of getting into an accident? Discuss the consequences of traveling
in winter weather.
